Hi LNCronan, Pull back there missy! Come on now the stress of waiting has gotten to you….and me….and everyone else… (Just kidding!) The most that Gideon would have done is tell both his mother and Corinne to f*** off. Their actions don’t seem to warrant the level of retribution that this theory seems to require. Any sane rational human being would have said “listen Eva is my girlfriend so if you have any nasty comments to make, then KEEP THEM TO YOURSELF!!†Again these women haven’t done anything to really warrant Gideon’s wrath. Or worse still, Gideon could cut his mother, Corinne and his brother out of his life. Game over! No contact, no access no nothing! I asked it before and I will ask it again; do you really want to root for a character that would go out and mentally destroy another human being because of a situation that HE is more than PARTIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR? I DON’T!!! If Gideon did what you suggest than he is WORSE than all of the rest of the characters combined! He would know that what he is doing is wrong and it wouldn’t matter to him! It would tell me that he wouldn’t be capable of discerning between serious and life threatening situations and everyday bulls***! Why on earth would I want to buy a book about that?! I don’t want to be reading about Gideon visiting Corinne in a mental institution in books four and five because he feels so guilty about what he has done to her….blah, blah, blah. Crap! As far as Christopher Jr. is concerned, it is very easy. Gideon informs his security team and the building security that his brother is no longer welcome on the premises. If Christopher Jr. shows up unannounced, cops get called and they slap on the metal bracelets….next! The truth is that Christopher Jr. should NEVER have been Gideon’s responsibility! Period! His mother should have been reining in her son….or how about Vidal Sr.? Other than siring an offspring what has that lout been doing to try and tame his namesake’s ways? How is this for an alternate theory; “Vidal Sr. cut the crap and rein in your son or I am going to take away the rest of your company or better still I will financially tank the stock and I will bankrupt you and your family? Just how long do you think it would take before Vidal Sr. got his son under control?†My guess is 2.5 seconds.

Hi LNCronan, Yes, I can picture Corinne being absolutely desperate. She knows that Eva is a very real threat regardless of whether Gideon broke up with her or not. She had something with Gideon that Corinne never did…PASSION! That fact wouldn’t have been lost on Corinne. If Corinne was secure in her relationship with Gideon she wouldn’t have reacted in that way. She would have told Eva to go and take a hike and slammed the door in her face. So I think that when Corinne got into it with Eva, she was doing everything within her power to try and chase off any potential competition. I could see Gideon telling Corinne that they were just friends and Corinne trying to change his mind and in the process of trying she snaps, but I don’t know that I see Gideon purposely wanting to hurt Corinne. As a woman and a fellow human being would you want to root for a character that goes out and mentally destroys another human being because she had the misfortune of falling in love with Gideon Cross? I don’t. Where’s the fun or the thrill in knowing that deep down inside, Gideon is on despicable human being? Even if Gideon didn’t know that Corinne was in love with him before, he knows it now. Eva pointed it out to him on a few occasions and I am sure that Corinne has more than demonstrated that through her actions. So what did Corinne do to Eva? She said a few nasty words…that’s it. She didn’t kill Eva’s cat, or try and go after her with a knife (Fatal Attraction style), she got into words with someone she felt was a threat to her. I sincerely don’t believe that Corinne was enraged when Eva showed up on her doorstep. Not even close!! She was off that Eva showed up because she didn’t like the woman and she told her off, but rage? No way!!

Hi LNCronan, After I stopped rolling around on the ground from laughter, I reread your comments and I just wanted to clarify a few things. • I never said that Elizabeth Vidal would win the mother of the year award. In fact I think it was I who rallied about just how despicable Elizabeth was for NOT believing her son. Where we differ is I don’t think that she has done everything wrong. I still don’t have enough evidence to convict her of other things as well. If you want to hang Elizabeth Vidal for what she did to her son by not believing him about the abuse then you grab the rope and I‘ll find the tree. • Monica deserves a b**** slap about her “supervised neglect†of her daughter while she was living with the first Mr. Yes she got herself out of the marriage and a nice settlement for herself and her kid, but everything she did was to avoid any kind family scandal so how the heck is that being a responsible parent?! She took away her daughter’s voice and right to confront her accuser (part of the healing process). • Later on in the story Monica actually spotted Nathan….YES THE NATHAN outside of the Crossfire Building and what does our Monica do……NOTHING! She doesn’t say a WORD to her daughter!! If you want to hang her as well, then I am in for those reasons. • Now, now LNCronan, do you really want to go after me about what my position is about children and abuse? I think not Missy! I have always been pro victim’s rights! Always! • I all for convicting someone for what they have DONE but NOT what they MIGHT do. • You want to hang these people for things that haven’t done YET. That is the difference. • I don’t recall calling Angus everyone’s pet, but feel free to refer back to the posting and I will be more than happy to figure out what the context was in which I might said that. Try and think of it this way, wouldn’t this be a boring forum if you didn’t have someone to spar with? Part of having a theory hold up is being able to withstand challenges. I hope we are still good lady. At the end of the day, it is all good on my end, although pretty soon we may end up betting on who ends up being accurate on some of the theories. :)

Hi LNCronan, Why would Christopher Jr. know that Eva and Elizabeth got into it? The only thing that Christopher would know is that his mother came back to the family table upset. A million things could have upset this woman (a bathroom attendant, an old flame of Christopher Sr., an old “frenemyâ€). Your theory assumes that Christopher Jr. is completely astute and constantly on the prowl for every little possible slight or potential scenario…Might I remind you that Christopher Jr. is still just a “guy†and our firmer sex isn’t always as perceptive as us. Let’s just also be clear that Eva didn’t attack Elizabeth Vidal per say, she just got a verbal can of whoop Arse heaped on her! • Your argument assumes that Corinne has no self preservation skills what so ever and thus far Christopher Jr. has managed to creep out Eva (and I am sure many others), so why would Corinne want to be in cahoots with Jr. She’s already had Sr. and cavorting with Jr. is a demotion…. • There is no proof thus far that Christopher Jr. and Corinne even know each other beyond a hello so this theory might be a little out there… (no judgments, I’ve had a few interesting ones myself…read the Mr. Barker one…that should make the group members laugh! ) • Your theory also assumes that Christopher Jr. has this great kind loving relationship with his mother and that his mother wouldn’t be wise to his bulls*** stunts. Nay my good friend! If a child were going to do something devious or nasty, the first person that any child would want to avoid like the plague would be their parents. Half decent parents would be able to tell when one of their kids was trying to pull a stunt. Notice I said “half decentâ€. I am hoping that Elizabeth Vidal learned from the Gideon fiasco and isn’t a complete “mommy dearestâ€! • Your theory is starting to make Christopher Jr. sound like a “girl†with all of this gossiping • As far as the Vidal garden party is concerned Christopher Jr. could inadvertently consider that a win for him. Eva’s acceptance to the party got Gideon to show up. As far as Elizabeth is concerned, I don’t think that she would care how Gideon got there but she might care who got him there (i.e. Christopher Jr. invite to Eva who got him to follow). If anything Christopher Jr. might get all the praise as far as his mother was concerned. • I don’t think that Corinne would seek out Elizabeth Vidal or even the other way around. I get the feeling that Elizabeth wouldn’t want to rock the boat with her son. As much as she may want to vent about what Eva said to her or even anyone else for that fact, I think that the fear of losing her son permanently would make her bite her tongue, thus keeping her quiet. • The next thing you know, Corinne and Elizabeth may end up becoming best friends (replacing Magdalene’s mother of that title) and get together regularly to gab about the latest contest who got voted off on the “Bachelorette†all while French braiding each other’s hair. • I think that if Christopher Jr. tried twisting Gideon’s tail, then he would end up twisting Christopher Jr. b****. Ok, so now I am getting really silly! Sorry everyone. Ok, ok, in all seriousness now, I think that we the faithful readers are due for another snippet or two. Maybe that will help us all to figure out which path to take as far as theories are concerned. In all seriousness again, thank you LNCronan for taking the time to come up with all these incredible theories. It certainly makes the time fly faster and makes passing the time a lot easier and more fun. :)

Hi LNCronan, I just wanted to clarify with you that Gideon and Brett got into a fight in the “parking lot†outside of the back of the building so therefore it wouldn’t have gathered attention from the backstage crowd initially. I think that people who were milling around out back (groupies, roadies, etc.) saw a fight break out, gathered around and then eventually recognized that one of the men fighting was the lead singer of the band. That’s when I think that someone said something to someone else and the backstage crew got involved. Fights occur at rock concerts all the time and as such I don’t think that would have been enough to gather the attention of the “higher ups†unless it was one of their performers. I may be splitting hairs here, apologies if I am. :)
-
Hi Sscrph, I like your idea. Your theory would fit the current circumstances. Gideon and Eva are no longer together and he has been seen publically with Corinne. I wonder how Brett will fit into the picture. Do you think that he will make an outright play for her? I wonder if the press is going to try and link Eva and Brett together. How would they go about doing that? Is Brett idealizing his past memories with Eva or was Eva the true love of his life? It will be interesting to see how Sylvia decides to deal with this. I can hardly wait for June 4th. :)
-
Hi LNCronan, I don’t understand why Corinne would willingly put herself back in the exact same position that she was in during her first go around with Gideon. It wouldn’t make sense to me as a woman. I have a hard time believing that Corinne wouldn’t have gained some perspective in all those years that she and Gideon were apart. Corinne going around and telling everyone that she and Gideon are going out reminds of a dog trying to mark its territory. Dogs do that to try and scare away competitor, it doesn’t mean that other dogs will head that urinary warning. I think that Corinne was terrified because she knew somewhere deep down inside her that she wasn’t going to get Gideon. Something else just struck me, if Eva could see through Christopher Jr. crap, why on earth wouldn’t Corinne be able to? Wouldn’t Corinne’s self preservation meter been going through the roof any time she was near him? The only person who seemed to tolerate Christopher Jr. was Magdalene and only because he was an emotional and sexual outlet for her frustrations. I wonder what would happen if Magdalene no longer used Christopher Jr. for sex. How quickly would it take for the rose to lose its bloom? I also wonder how long it would be before Christopher Jr. would become violent toward Magdalene. Right now Magdalene serves a sexual and information purpose for Christopher Jr.; what will happen when she is no longer useful to him? I can’t see Corinne actually dating Gideon for three weeks without some kind of physical intimacy. Period. We are not talking about Amish dating here. :)
-
Hi LNCronan, I don’t doubt that Corinne was spending time with Gideon. What I don’t buy is that she would fool herself into thinking that Gideon was enamored with her. Her past experience would have taught her that Gideon wasn’t in love with her to begin with. I couldn’t see Corinne buying the taking “time†to become reacquainted with one another before any kind of intimacy excuse. It would have completely fit Gideon’s old pattern and I don’t think that Corinne would go for it a second time. She left Gideon the first time around because she knew that something wasn’t right between the two of them (even if she wasn’t able to verbalize it or knew how to put it into words).
-
Hi LNCronan, I can’t resist a little witty repartee myself…what only twenty minutes with Gideon? That alone should have told Corinne that she never stood a chance. :)
-
Hi MrsCrossfire, What about the figurative translation of “Christmas in July It is obvious that the boxes and wrappings are Christmas inspired. So the question is which Christmas is it? I think that any gift from Gideon Cross would be a good gift! :)Oh please dear Sylvia, let those memories be good ones! Fingers crossed here! :)
-
Hi LNConan, Why does it have to be about Gideon’s childhood? Why not Eva? I just have to state for the record that I love Christmas! So I really hope that there isn’t any horrid childhood memory having to deal with Christmas. Sigh! Then again the comments that Eva and Gideon made about Christmas and presents would permanently put a smile on my face! I think that anyone who didn’t like Christmas before this would definitely be converted after. :)

Hi Ssrph, You make a good observation about Carey feeling displaced. As a reader I wonder whether it has always been just Carey and Eva. I also wonder when they both decided to start living together as roommates. It almost feels like Carey became part of Eva’s family but that they formed their own little family within that family. I wonder if Carey is using Brett as a way to test Eva’s relationship with Gideon. If Gideon really loves Eva, then they will be able to overcome whatever obstacles are in their way. I wonder if Carey is perceptive enough to use conflict to get Gideon to open up. I hope that makes sense. I am encouraged by Carey’s ability to maintain and thrive at his modeling career. It lets me know that Carey is well under way towards recovery. I am not so concerned about his love life in that somewhere deep down inside Carey knows who he is. I think that he was hurt when he finally found someone that he thought that he could connect with wanted him to be someone that he wasn’t or isn’t capable of being.
-
Hi AMC, Good synopsis of the facts! I agree with your assertion of where Carey is emotionally. I hope that his character grows in the next book. Overall Carey is a lot of fun and I would like to see him find happiness. I wonder how Sylvia is going to tie all these storylines together? I really hope that there is going to be a fourth book in the series. I am not ready to let the characters go…sigh! :)
-
Hi KiMa, No worries, I take the postings at face value. If I don’t understand something then I ask for clarification. I really like the idea of Carey and Eva teaming up like a modern day Nancy Drew. Then Carey could use his mischief making skills for good. :)

Hi LNCronan, How exactly would Gideon, Monica and Stanton all have worked together on the blackmail issue? Who would approach whom? I couldn’t see Gideon contacting Monica to tell him about the visit from Nathan or his blackmail request. Gideon has always appeared so strong, self confident and very capable of handling whatever treachery would come his way. Since Eva is constantly trying to assert her independence from her mother, I couldn’t see Monica turning to Gideon to solve this Nathan blackmail issue. I almost think that pride would prevent Monica from going to Gideon to let him know what was going on. I also don’t think that Monica would want to relive her less than stellar moments as a parent with Gideon. I think that maybe Monica might be afraid to look bad in Gideon’s eyes, if for no other reason than it might ruin Eva’s chances of snagging herself a wealthy husband. All this writing just makes me wonder who initiated the conversation first and what was said. What do you think? What does everyone think?

Hi LNCronan, I wonder if Mr. Barker ever searched his son’s room. I would think that Eva’s rapes, the killing of her cat and subsequent evidence of the trauma and miscarriage would have set off HUGE alarm bells for Nathan’s father. Wouldn’t he have wanted to know what his son was up to? If his son had committed all these crimes, wouldn’t Mr. Barker want to search all the places that Nathan inhabited to see if Nathan hid any evidence of other crimes? The only reason I don’t think that Nathan stashed his trophies from his crimes is that he would have become well acquainted with the legal system and may have known that the cops or the court could have gotten a warrant to search his safety deposit box. So he stashes his “trophies†somewhere where no one would think to look. It sounds strange but is it possible that Nathan hid his creepy photos and videos in his family home attic? How many people go up to their family attic on a regular basis? People usually stash old photos, etc up in the attic and with a huge family home like the one Nathan must have lived in, would have given Nathan ample opportunity to stash a few pieces of evidence here or there. I know that this theory is farfetched, but something that others have been posting on the forums made me stop and think. Where is the one place that Gideon, Monica, Stanton, the cops etc. would never stop to look for the videos and photos? The Barker mansion (I assume it is a mansion from the status of Mr. Barker’s wealth and from the settlement that he gave both Eva and Monica). Let’s say for the sake of argument, Nathan stashed the evidence at his childhood family home. How would he gain access to the evidence and entry into the home? • Could Nathan use the “rouse†that the wants to change his wayward ways and has come to ask for his father’s forgiveness. • Could Nathan use an old family will (perhaps his deceased mother’s-nothing is mentioned about whether Nathan’s mom is alive or deceased), asking for some specific property that belonged to his mother (a trunk, a hat box, etc….). • Could Nathan have waited until Mr. Barker left the premises and then gained entry into the house illegally? • Could it be that when Nathan was ousted from the family home Mr. Barker forgot to change the security codes for the house (strangers things have happened!)? • Could it be that Nathan used his looks and/or charm on one of the maids or staff to allow him to gain access to the family home? • Could it be that Nathan bribed one of the staff to allow him to gain access to a specific area of the family home (one where he had the evidence stashed)? • Or could it be that Nathan bribed or offered some kind of compensation to one of the staff to enlist them in retrieving the specific piece of property that Nathan was looking for? I am sure that the Barker family would have been filled to the rafters with family knick knacks and as such Nathan could have stashed some evidence in one of those. I know that these are some seriously farfetched ideas but who knows? What does everyone think?

Hi LNCronan, I still don’t see how the release of Eva being the main subject of “Golden Girl†is going to be an issue. What does Christopher Jr. get out of the deal? He still won’t have Eva, ever! As I mentioned earlier, none of the lyrics are torrid so….what Gideon gets ribbed by his younger brother about how Eva had a love affair with a rock star….and? Publically I couldn’t see that the release of Eva being the inspiration for “Golden Girl†being an issue. This type of information isn’t like dealing with a s** scandal or a videotape scandal. I think that if Christopher Jr. shot off his mouth about some of the gossip he heard from the band, I think would lead to demise. I could see Gideon taking the company away or making his brother suffer for shooting his mouth off. Somehow I don’t know if I would see the band members spilling secrets about Brett and Eva’s past. They recognize that Vidal Records is their meal ticket and in some way, Eva too. So I think that this is one of those secrets that they would all carry to their graves. Could it be that Sylvia is using this part of the story as a “red herring Other than a fight or two between Eva and Gideon, what more can be gained with that information? What does everyone think?
-
Hi AMC, What effect do you think that Christopher Jr. spilling the beans will have on Gideon? It is a song; it isn’t a confession of an affair. How exactly would Christopher Jr. stick it Gideon? What is the worst that could happen? If anything Vidal Records would profit and the “song sales†would go through the roof. The lyrics of the song talk about a love affair, nothing dirty or torrid so I can’t see how Gideon would be affected professionally. I could see Gideon’s jealously rearing up, but that is something they will have to deal with together. Eva also has a serious jealousy issue. So what… :)
-
Hi LNCronan, In order to have an enemy, one has to suppose that the ally has power to wield and thus far, Elizabeth Vidal has NONE! She has no power or any standing with her son (he tolerates her at best), she screwed up the relationship between her family and Gideon when she sided with the Vidal’s medical experts, etc.and I don’t think that Elizabeth Vidal would have really had any contact with Corinne either. Let’s also remember that Gideon absolutely LOVES Eva madly, obsessively, etc. and I don’t think that for one second Gideon would put anyone else above Eva. I think that Gideon would slay anyone who stood in his way of a happily ever after with Eva and that would include his mother, brother, maybe even sister and most definitely his “friends†(family or otherwise). The only opinion that counts, the only person that counts is Eva. That is why Gideon tolerates Carey and makes concessions for Eva’s needs. If it makes Eva happy then Gideon will deal … I also don’t think that Eva has given Elizabeth reason to hate her. The only thing that Eva has done is point out Elizabeth’s’ flaws as a mother. I could see Elizabeth disliking Eva because of her mouth, but hate is a very strong word and I don’t think that Eva’s actions have reached that level yet. What does everyone else think?
-
Hi LNCronan, I wonder how Gideon would react if he found out about Christopher Jr. touching his beloved Eva. Now that would be a situation where Gideon could kill! I wonder if there is someone else in Gideon’s past where Eva would need her “self defense†skills. What if Eva accidentally discovered who was abusing Gideon and the abuser felt threatened and Eva was forced to defend herself…that would be an interesting twist to the storyline? So far Eva has done all of the digging into Gideon’s past. She has been successful in uncovering some interesting facts (although she doesn’t have enough information yet). I could see Eva and Carey teaming up to solve the Gideon’s past mystery. I don’t know how much longer Eva is going to patient and wait for Gideon to fill in the blanks. I think that Eva might start to go and look for answers herself and that might get her into serious trouble.
-
Hi LNCronan, What benefit is it of Christopher Jr. to sleep with Gideon’s cast offs? I would think that the point is to get under Gideon’s skin and “lure†or steal away one of Gideon’s current girlfriends. THAT would seriously off Gideon. The rest just makes Christopher Jr. look like a complete total and utter loser! OK, ok, so we all know that Christopher Jr. is a loser but the point is, he doesn’t think that he is. There has to be a method to his madness. Going after “relationship scraps†doesn’t make sense from a plot line standing. As far as the Magdalene thing goes, what does the fact that Magdalene’s mother is best friends with Gideon’s mother have to do with anything? You assume that because the mothers were best friends that the kids would be best friends as well. Not true. Surely some of the readers on this forum have had similar situations that whose mothers were best friends but the children were not. Let’s also remember that Gideon and Magdalene are of the opposite sex. As children they would have had different things they would like to play (girls-tea parties and dress up; boys-GI Joe or cops and robbers, etc.). If these two were both the same sex then I could see the possibility of these two being closer, but the scenario presented doesn’t make sense to me. As far as Corinne reconnecting with the Vidal’s, I don’t think that Corinne had a lot if any contact with the Vidal’s. This was a normal situation with a traditional family. If Gideon never set foot in his household and he never had anyone in his own apartment (with the exception of his mother showing up unannounced rarely) then I don’t think that Gideon would have gone out of his way to bring Corinne along to meet the “familyâ€. I also don’t think that he threw an engagement party to announce his marriage to Corinne. So how Corinne would be “reconnecting†with the Vidal family? I think that Gideon did everything humanly possible to keep his personal life separate and away from his family. If he didn’t feel safe with his family or the family surroundings then why on earth would Gideon bring Corinne into that mix? Gideon once cared for Corinne, so I would think that he would have wanted to protect her from his awful past. What does everyone think?
-
Hi LNCronan, No worries, we are just discussing theories here. I don’t think that Monica would have contacted Mr. Barker for any reason. I just think that whole situation would have been one very ugly painful reminder of the past and of her personal failings. Strangely enough, I don’t think that Mr. Barker would have willingly helped the police. I think that he would have stone walled them. He most likely would have used the “I disowned my son years ago and washed my hands of him…†line. Nathan may have done many terrible things in his life, but he was still Mr. Barker’s son and at the end of the day he would have been a grieving father and he would have been devastated for many reasons. He failed to raise a good moral upright child (he may have blamed himself on some level for how Nathan turned out), his child wreaked havoc on his personal life and on the lives of others that he loved and physically and emotionally hurt many people….ah the list goes on and on but at the end of the day, Mr. Barker still lost a child (in a very violent way). One only needs to look at all the grieving families of inmates that have been put to death. At the end of the day, these criminals were still their children. I don’t think that Monica would have thought that Nathan had videos and photos of his crimes and thus none of this would have been noted in the confidential settlement. I think that if any of this type of evidence was present when the lot of them was going to trial, I think that Mr. Barker would have absolutely destroyed any such evidence. Monica would have made sure of that. I also don’t know why Monica would have a reason to contact her ex-husband about this issue. I would think that Monica would have been well aware of the stress and strain that this put on Mr. Barker’s relationship with his son. As such I don’t think that he would have been in a position to help Monica.
-
Hi LNCronan, That’s exactly what I have been saying all along. I don’t think that there is any way Nathan would have brought the originals with him. I just wonder where on earth he could have stashed the originals. The reader isn’t given any clues as to Nathan’s movements or activities prior to his murder so trying to figure out where the photos and videos are may be challenging. Your theory about Monica, Stanton and Gideon refusing to pay off Nathan’s blackmail was because they were trying to buy time is interesting. If Gideon supposedly knew where Nathan was staying and that he knew that Nathan was staying at one of his hotels all along, then why wouldn’t have Gideon taken one of his famous “master keys†and have Nathan’s room checked for the originals? I would think that would make the most sense and would be the least intrusive of all options. Those options wouldn’t have been available to Monica and Stanton though. So how do they come into play with your theory? What were they trying to do to find the original videos and photos? I surely cannot believe that they were “SOLEY†relying on Gideon to solve their problems. Eva is Monica’s daughter and ultimately her responsibility, so what was Monica doing to try and help her daughter? I don’t know where private investigators could look for that kind of “needle†in the haystack. By everyone’s admission, Nathan was nuts and therefore most likely didn’t have any friends so he couldn’t have stashed the originals with them. He had also been disowned by his father so he didn’t have access to the family estate (another potential hiding place for said stuff) and I don’t think that Nathan would have been foolish enough to just stash the stuff in a safety deposit box at some bank, so where then? It will be really interesting to see how Sylvia ties all these little details together. Hopefully she will do this in the next book. :)
-
Hi KiMa, It was my understanding that Gideon uncovered an embezzlement scheme and he had to put a stop to it. I didn’t understand that conversation as Gideon admitting that he was heading down the road of criminal activity. What are your thoughts?
-
Hi LNCronan, I think that when Eva makes a mistake the only person who suffers is Eva. When Carey makes a mistake both Carey and Eva suffer (quite frankly more often than not Eva suffers more). Eva is usually the one cleaning up Carey’s messes. I am not sure however that Gideon likes Carey. I absolutely agree that Gideon recognizes the important role Carey plays in Eva’s life, but I don’t think that he particularly likes him. I know that he doesn’t hate him so at least that is in his favour. I think that in order for Gideon to like Carey more, Carey would have to get his act together more (I think that would be a fair statement on both Gideon and Carey’s part). In the end I guess it could be argued that friendship means not keeping score. :)
