  1. Hi everyone, You all make good points about Shawna. It could very well be that she said something about what happened at the concert. :)
  2.     Hi LNCronan, Cary has a right to be concerned about Eva and Gideon. Asides from the great s**, Gideon hasn't been that great of a boyfriend. I just don't think that Brett is the greatest choice either. Cary would have been sitting with Eva in group therapy, listening to how she degraded herself all in the hopes of getting a guy who showed no signs of wanting her for anything more than a good time.
  3.     Hi LNCronan, Gideon hit the "orgy guy" only once, because one punch to the nose was all it took. Gideon successfully managed to break the guy's nose, which would also be very painful! The guy would have been writhing in pain and having difficulty breathing and trying not to choke on his own blood (which would have been pouring out of his nose and into this throat). I think that act would constitute subduing the enemy quite effectively. The person would no longer be in a fighting mode, they would be in a self preserving mode. Therefore the threat would be eliminated and the fight would be over.
  4.     Hi KiMa, I am on a slow speed dial up and I think that my computer program which is Windows XP has something to do with how my messages post. When I hit the reply button, that exact code (what you mentioned) is what I see. I tried deleating it beforehand but when I post my message, that exact same code comes up. Sorry for any inconvenience. I have no control over this. :)
  5.     Hi LNCronan, You just made a really important comment here about the American justice/legal system. Instead of getting the “proverbial egg on their faces†and doing the right thing by not bringing a case to trial, the DA’s decided, because of media attention, to try a case that they knew in all likelihood would lose. Instead of taking their lumps at the beginning, they allowed public perceptions to sway their decisions into committing career suicide. It is always the most highly publicized cases that people remember. I think the public remembers those cases that got the most attention and most especially the ones the DA’s lost. One need only look at the OJ & Casey Anthony trials so see the effect they had on all parties involved…
  6.     Thank Goodness! The voice of reason has spoken! The choirs are singing! :)
  7.     Hi LNCronan, Do you think that Cary and Brett are communicating via email? Why would Brett or Cary contact the other when neither of them would have known about the other. Cary wasn't around when Eva was degrading herself with Brett. She talked about him when they met in group therapy. I find it a little bit odd. That would take Cary's mischief making skills in a different direction (perhaps a not so nice direction). What do you think? What does everyone think?
  8.     Hi KiMa, What book are you talking about? If you could post the name it would be greatly appreciated! I would love to read a book that mentions some of Sylvia's other characters. Thanks in advance. :)
  9.     Hi LNCronan, I don’t doubt for a second that DA’s bring high profile cases to trial or will continue to do so. In this instance, the cops have NOTHING! It is all SPECULATION!!!! 1. In the OJ Case, there was actual photographic proof that OJ was beating the crap out of his wife thereby completely contradicting his “nice guy†act. The man was a wife beating dog. 2. In the case of Casey Anthony, while her daughter was missing for 40 days, that girl was out there partying like a rock star. She never reported her daughter missing on the FIRST day she couldn’t find her! I could totally see why the DA’s office might want to bring charges. Both of these cases had huge red flags! No normal sane human being would be out partying while their child was missing. They would probably be sedated or out in front of the media pleading for their child’s return! In Gideon’s case, what does the DA have? Nothing! There is no fiber evidence, no blood evidence, no finger prints, no eye witnesses, no video, and no nothing! The only thing they have is that Gideon used to date Eva. He has since moved but has the occasional contact with the girl. She works in his building and has worked on one of his accounts. I would think that it would be odder if Gideon completely avoided Eva.
  10.     Hi MicheleWV, I hope Sylvia does jump ahead. Maybe somthing along the lines of Gideon and Eva's happily ever after. I would love to see them in happier times. :)
  11.     Hi Mrsmajessick, I completely agree with you. It is absolutely strange that both Angus and Arnoldo left Gideon there to fight with Brett alone. The comment that Angus made is almost beyond bizarre. I could definitely see Sylvia putting that in there for a specific reason. I am not sure that she put that in there to provide subtle proof that Gideon was capable of killing Nathan. I am not saying that you said that or that you are referring to that. I just need more proof, writing…. Maybe Gideon got into a lot of fights as a child or young adult. Maybe he got into such a severe fight that he almost killed someone so he learned his lesson. Maybe Gideon attacked his abuser and Angus stepped in, to prevent Gideon from doing something that he would regret later. There are a lot of maybes here and no proof… You also make a very good point about Angus being Gideon’s bodyguard. Under what circumstances does Angus actually get involved? I could see Angus having a more proactive role when Gideon was young, but now that Gideon is an adult, how does Angus fulfill those duties? What do you think? What does everyone think?
  12. Hi LNCronan, That theory is plausible but from the perspective that Corinne deluded herself from the beginning that she could have Gideon. I just think that Gideon didn’t help her along by falsely dating her. I think that maybe she had those thoughts to begin with, became disillusioned and then finally snapped. I think that someone helped her go “over the edge†though. If it wasn’t Gideon who helped Corinne go over the edge, then who did the honours? It will be really interesting to see how the Corinne storyline plays out. What do you think? What does everyone think?
  13. OOO LA LA LNCronan, Do you think that maybe Cary was anonymously feeding gossip tidbits to tabloid rags or gossip sites for a bit of cash? Something that you said made me stop and wonder. What do you think? What does everyone think?
  14. Hi Mrsmajessick, I think that your theory is completely plausible and it also makes sense. I never stopped to consider that Christopher Sr. might commit suicide if he was financially ruined. I think that in order for that to happen, Elizabeth Vidal would have to divorce him, empty his bank accounts (with alimony, child support and whatever else she could think of…), disgrace him by publically revealing what he had done to her child when he was a child and then finally by taking custody of Ireland, essentially leaving him with nothing! I think that would do it! I don’t think that Elizabeth Vidal knew that Christopher Sr. was covering up Gideon’s abuse (if in fact he was doing so). I think that she would leave him immediately. Elizabeth Vidal would no longer have been in a desperate situation. She was now a woman who had produced offspring for a wealthy man, thereby producing an income of sorts for herself (through child support, spousal support, etc.). Divorce lawyers love to take on those types of wealthy clients! They are the bread and butter of their industry. If you throw in the scandal of Christopher Vidal Sr. covering up a child’s abuse and doing nothing to stop it or help the child….then goodnight ladies and gentlemen! It would be game over and Elizabeth Vidal would have walked away with the lions’ share of Vidal Sr. fortune and Christopher Sr. would have lost his reputation, society standing and good name. He would be utterly ruined! What does everyone else think?
  15. Hi LNCronan, No one would have known that Eva was sexually involved in the early stages about her relationship with Gideon except for maybe Mark. I don’t think that he would have said a thing to the higher ups about that. It wouldn’t make sense for his professional career. It would be like he was back in his school days and was “telling on someoneâ€. As such I don’t think that any of the ad executives would have noticed whether Gideon was giving Eva the “cold shoulder†or not. They were there to discuss business. It also wouldn’t have been appropriate for Gideon to be directing his attention toward Eva. She is nothing more than a level entry assistant and as such would have had no voice during the meeting. If anything it would have been highly irregular for her to be speaking or voicing her opinions. If anything Gideon was acting inappropriately toward Eva during that first meeting. He should have been directing his comments and questions towards Mark. I also don’t think that Mark would have necessarily correlated Gideon’s reaction or lack thereof as something more sinister. I guess it all comes down to whether Mark talked with Shawna about what happened at the concert.
  16. Hi everyone, I just wanted to toss something out to all the group members; do you think that Shawna went home after the concert and blabbed to her brother and brother-in-law about what happened at the concert or do you think that she just kept that information to herself? What does everyone think?
  17. Hi LNCronan, I just wanted to clarify with you, why would Eva have a black mark against her? Thus far Eva’s work and performance at the ad agency has been stellar. It wouldn’t be that unusual for an assistant to not attend the Kingman Vodka Party. Usually it is only the ad executives and higher ups that would be invited to that kind of shindig. So surely that couldn’t be used against her. Do you think that Eva sleeping with Gideon is going to have a negative effect on her work life? If anything, Eva sleeping with Gideon has had a positive effect on her ad agency. They landed the account because of it (indirectly of course). A black mark implies that Eva has not fulfilled her duties and that it has been noted. Or could it be that Mark eventually becomes resentful of Eva. She is this young, inexperienced assistant, who just happens to be sleeping with the boss, gets all the breaks (compliments of Gideon) and accolades for her contributions all the while, Mark sits in the background with all the experience in the world, who had to work like a dog to get where he is, is now overshadowed by the young Eva. What do you think?
  18.     HiShazScott1980, It is about freaking time! I have waited too long for one of those snippets!! Thanks for posting that little tidbit! I can hardly wait! :)
  19.     Hi Jls1216, You made a good observation about how Eva likes her coffee. I didn't pick up on it until I looked at the photo again and saw that there was milk added. Do you think that means that this clue is about Eva?
  20. Hi everyone, I just wanted to clarify that Gideon couldn't have gotten Eva's birth control pills. Birth control pills can only dispensed by prescription only. Seeing as Gideon doesn't have a uterus, there is no way that boy could get his hands on those pills. Even if someone wanted to go to a "free clinic" to get birth control pills for a "friend", the person who was going to take the pills would have to come in for an examination first. No uterus Gideon-no birth control pills. :)
  21.     Hi MicheleWV, I really hope that Elizabeth Vidal does come to realize what she did was wrong and beg for Gideon’s forgiveness! Thus far she is sitting the despicable mother category, but maybe just maybe she might be able to redeem herself just a TINY bit! I think that if she confessed what she did was wrong it would help in Gideon’s healing process immensely! I think that Gideon deserves to heal and sometimes, for some people they need to hear from the people who harmed them, that they are sorry for their actions. I don’t know if Elizabeth Vidal is capable of that, but I hope that she is.
  22. Hi LNCronan, I had one quick other thing to mention. I am well aware of the concept of “master keysâ€. Each and every single time that Gideon used one of his master keys, it would have been recorded someone above and beyond Gideon. Contrary to popular belief, Gideon wouldn’t have been able to account for or cover up each and every single one of his movements. One other thing I wanted to mention is that if Gideon did use a master key to enter the hotel room, then the room lock would have buzzed or made a noise to signal that someone was entering the room. Regardless of who was using the key or which key was used, the door lock would have made a noise thereby alerting Nathan (or anyone else in the room).
  23. Hi LNCronan, I also just thought of something else. As far as the master key theory is concerned, I find it hard to believe that Gideon would be furiously working at making sure that the computer servers were wiped. Although computer hard drives can be scrubbed, their memories can’t be completely wiped clean. There is always trace evidence left behind of computer “scrubbing†programs. Criminals are often caught because of issues like this. As far as the Gideon and Nathan fight thing, I look to every other fight Gideon has had in the book. He has never just landed one punch. He dished out several body blows to his opponents in a very methodical way. I don’t believe for one second that Gideon could have sat in his office and viewed video of the love his life being brutally raped or photos of that rape and Gideon punching Nathan just once. I that is just Crap! On hand Gideon is supposed to be all emotional about kisses, on the other he is supposed to cold and calculated, he kills a man with only one blow because he can rationalize he is killing for protection and not about revenge, then he is supposed to be so brilliant that he is wiping computer servers himself, then hosting Vodka parties, all while falsely dating Corinne, etc……I am beginning to wonder Gideon has been bitten by a RADIOACTIVE SPIDER? As far as the Nathan isn’t afraid of Gideon after the fight, ask ANY guy who has been in a fight with someone who has HUGE martial arts skills, there is NO FREAKING WAY that any guy with an ounce of self preservation would go in for round two. Come on now! Seriously! Ladies ask your men about this. Let’s also remember that Nathan was trying to blackmail Gideon and he had horrible photos and video of him brutally raping and torturing Eva. I don’t think that this would have been lost on Nathan. On one hand Nathan is supposed to cold and calculated, yet on the other he isn’t supposed to have ANY SELF PRESERVATION SKILLS. Seriously? Nathan was very violent towards WOMEN!! He had a habit of brutalizing and terrorizing WOMEN, NOT men. There is a huge difference there! Perhaps Nathan Knew that he couldn’t pull those bulls*** stunts on men because he wouldn’t have gotten killed! The only difference is that no one ever controlled Nathan or tried to rein him in. He never had to atone for his crimes. His dad was always cleaning up his son’s messes, so much so, that he finally gave up and washed his hands of his own son. Nathan wasn’t a bar room brawler. He was a lowly piece of crap that picked on, beat, brutalized, tortured and raped little girls!!! He never had an ounce of self decency. As such, I suspect that Gideon was probably the very first man to ever put the fear of God in him! He was the first man to physically react in a very violent way to one of his hideous stunts. I don’t suspect that Stanton would have put a smack down on Nathan when he showed up with the photos and video. The theory being presented of Gideon isn’t one of a man, but either of some seriously mentally disordered man or some type of super hero. In order for a theory to fly, I have to be able to buy the premise of the theory. The scenario laid for Gideon isn’t a realistic one for me. What does everyone think?
  24.     Hi LNCronan, I just wanted to clarify that yes, we are speculating, well actually our speculations have gone from simple, to ridiculous to absurd, but that’s ok, I like to indulge in a little fantasy every once in a while. The truth of the matter is that neither of us has any actual physical, tangible proof (via Sylvia) that either or any theory is accurate. So in lieu of a game of rock, paper, scissors, we each lay out our reasons why we think our theory will fly. My theory about why Monica may have committed the murder is that: 1. Monica has always called her daughter consistently (at home, at work, on her cell phone), bordering on obsessively, yet the week before Nathan’s murder, she stopped the calls, visits, etc. Why? 2. Monica saw Nathan with her own two eyes outside of the Crossfire Building before his murder and she said NOTHING to Eva. Why? 3. Monica and Stanton were being blackmailed by Nathan and yet they said NOTHING to Eva. Why? 4. Nathan was in New York for approximately one week before he was murdered and Monica, Stanton and even Clancy didn’t inform Eva of this fact. Why? 5. Monica failed Eva in the most elemental of ways. She put her husband above her own daughters’ safety. Yes she got her daughter out of the situation when she found out BUT her parental neglect is what helped CREATE this situation in the first place. 6. Monica knew just how dangerous Nathan was. She saw the physical evidence of his brutality on Eva’s body (with the miscarriage, vaginal and anal scarring, etc.) and yet she didn’t alert her daughter about what was going on about what was going on and that Nathan was back in town and stalking Eva. Is Monica still grossly neglectful or has she got something planned? 7. At this point Monica knows that Eva is in imminent danger. Nathan will never go away. He will just keep coming back and back and back again. This is now a no win situation. Nathan won’t stop until he kills Eva. Monica no longer has any choice. In order to save her daughter she has to kill Nathan. I believe that Monica may have been harboring a lot of guilt and hatred toward Nathan. This man brutally raped and tortured her daughter for four years and as a result she suffered a miscarriage. This information alone must have been a huge shock to Monica’s system. As a result, Monica lost; more accurately gave up her marriage to save/rescue her daughter which also must have upset her. She was apparently happy with this relationship. After getting out of the marriage, Monica has time to think, reflect and possibly stew over all the horrible things that have happened to her daughter and her and Nathan becomes the focus of her hatred (rightly so). Several years later, Monica spots Nathan, is informed by her husband that Nathan is attempting to blackmail him and Monica over what he did to Eva. What is worse, Nathan has photos and videos of what he did. All those brutal rapes and torture caught on tape! Maybe Monica had the opportunity to see firsthand with her own eyes, just what exactly Nathan did to her precious daughter and in that moment Monica SNAPS!! Monica calls Gideon to find out where Nathan is staying because Gideon has always been diligent about Eva’s safety. In the book Eva states that “Monica gives as good as she gets…that she is a man-eater…†Why couldn’t Monica have used her charms and played her MOM CARD with Gideon to get him to reveal where Nathan is staying. So Clancy, Monica and/or Stanton stake out the hotel, figure out Nathan’s coming and goings. Monica finds the opportunity, sets up the meeting with Nathan under the guise that she is going to deliver the “payoff†money. Monica knocks, Nathan looks through the peep hole, sees that it is Monica, opens the door and BOOM! She stabs him once in the chest. The man goes down without a fight. Nathan would never have expected a fight from a woman. Does anyone get where I am coming from or am I the only one rowing the “Monica Boatâ€? The point is, for as much as your theory is plausible, my theory could also be plausible.
  25. Hi Mrs. CrossXxXxX, It is my understanding that Gideon has to be in control sexually at all times. He is the one who dictates when he will have sex, how he will have sex and what sex acts he will perform on his partners. Up until the limousine scene, Gideon had been the one to chase Eva and also the one to dictate what he would do to her; chasing and kissing her at his nightclub, making a play for her in his office, touching her intimately and kissing her and finally performing oral s**on her at Eva’s apartment. After the apartment scene, Eva was so overcome with emotion and passion for Gideon in the limousine, that she made the play for him in that she initiated s** with Gideon when she reached for his zipper and started to unzip his pants. I think that Gideon desired Eva so much (and probably wanted to please her) that he allowed the s** act to happen, but this was not in his original plan. Gideon said something to Eva about how he wanted her to be wearing nothing but the ankle bracelet the first time they were to have s**. Eva completely changed those plans. I think that Gideon allows Eva to “top†him because he loves her so much. She is the first woman that he has ever trusted or ever truly allowed into his personal space and into his heart. Gideon has always used his dominance as a way to control s** and also to keep himself safe.
