GiGi
Hi GiGi I believe JFG's predicament  is that of a wounded animal now: he'll bite back whoever and whatever should come near him. I don't see him hitting on Eva though Time will only tell us if he will be able to figure out how to move on in his life, with or without Corinne. Hi Gabri, You make a good correlation between Jean Francois and a wounded animal. I hope that he looks within himself and straightens out his marriage. There must have been some reason Jean Francois married Corinne. Perhaps he can tap into those memories again.  They say that love is a choice, not just a feeling. Let's hope that he chooses to love his wife again and then take her back to France.
GiGi
 Here is what I like in Chap. 20 best:  1) It was weird going to work on Monday. .... I wasn't Eva, the New York newbie trying to make it on her own in the big city with her best friend. I was a mogul's wife...  2) I knew you were nailing Cross again from the moment you started back up. ...Eva honey, don't you think that if there were another man in New York who could bang it out all night like Cross, I would've found him by now? ...No one is lucky enough to find two guys like that in a row. Not even you. You shoud've had a dry spell or at least a couple of really bad lays first.  3) Would you like to go home, Mrs Cross?  4) Maybe you should cut back on those vitamins, ace.  5) Can we still be naughty now that we are married?  6) "It's starting to go away," he murmured. My smile faded. "What? What's going away?" "The ... worry. It feels safe, doesn't it?" He sipped his wine. "Settled. It's a good feeling. I like it. A lot."  This is the chapter where I think Megumi goes missing. When JFG rings Eva up to remind her of their appointment, Eva answers a direct call .Seen that Megumi has put through Eva's calls (Magdalene, Brett) so far and that Gideon seems to be the only one whose calls can bypass the switchboard....     Where is Megumi then???????  I sooo love Eva's second ring shopping, as well as the s*x scene in a deserted Crossfire Building!!!! I was worried about Megumi not being at work that day. Megumi always went to work, so that behaviour is odd for thi characer.   I still can't figure out why Jean Franois would choose to meet with Eva. What woul he hope to gain from a meeting? Did he really meet her just to insult her?  I too, loved the ring shopping scene. It reminded me of when Eva shopped for Gideon's first ring...sigh! Love! GiGi
Hi Julie he is so overwhelmed by this completely new feeling that he takes his time to phrase it!! Hi Gabri, Have you noticed that everytime Gideon takes his time to speak and phrase something Eva automatically assumes something negative. I really hope that reaction will subside with time. julie54
I agree with you. I have been saying that for a long time. Everyone keeps blaming their actions on everyone else. The only two who haven't really fallen into that pattern are Eva and Gideon.  So tell us Julie, how would you dish out the truth to this lot? I am all ears! huh! Where to start. Corinne I think, then Monica. ;)
Barb55
Â Â Today is Chapter 21. Â Can't believe that we are almost thru the Chapters only 2 more to discuss!!! Â
Sheens263
I must say from the picture, I did think it was something to do with Gideon with his medication, I never thought it would be Corrine. Â I loved how Eva went with Gideon to the hospital and that Gideon let her, he needed her there for comfort and support I felt and to show his mother, JFG and everyone else that Eva is part of his life now and will go with him no matter what. Â I was glad he never kept Eva out of this, she needed to be with him. Â "I need her out of here" I loved as it showed how Gideon did not want Eva to see him fighting like that and being taken away, always wanting to protect his precious Eva
azmich
I wish Eva would have Krav Maga'd T.w.a.t.i.a.n.a. when they had the confrontation about her running around naked. I could just see Gideon leaning against the counter coolly drinking his coffee not paying any attention to T.w.a.t. I seem to remember someone coming up with the theory of Corrine and an overdose. Sharonm745
this picture threw me as I thought it was a man texting or getting a text not Eva getting a text from Cary  When the picture for Chapter 20 posted I was sure it was going to be a text that Gideon was arrested. I'm so happy I was wrong about that one. julie54
I love, that the pictures, totally threw us a curve ball. Do you think the next lot of snapshots will make us more cautious with our ideas? I reckon not. Lol :)
Sharonm745
Hi Sscrph, This is the second time that Eva had a reaction to someone touching her in too familiar way; the first time was with Elizabeth Vidal and the second was with Jean Francois. I don't discount when someone has that kind of (skin prickle reaction) reaction to being touched. I suspect that there is something more going on there, but again I don't have anything to go by other than Eva's initial reaction to meeting these people and my gut instinct. What do you think?  I don't think it is a trigger about the future but Eva's past. She still has a fear because Nathan would hold her down. When people are too touchy feely her fears come to the forefront. I don't think it is necessarily a intuition about the person. Of course we won't know until Eva lets us know through Sylvia.
Sharonm745
Hi Sharon, I hope what you and the other ladies have suggested. Hope that Jean Francois and Corinne get help. It will all depend on whether Jean Francois ever really loved his wife or not and vice versa.  I also thought about what you and the ladies had said about "touching" triggering past issues. What I wonder is whether there was something in Elizabeth's touch or Jean Francois's touch that put Eva on edge. What is that saying a dog will like 99 out a 100 people but that one person will walk up to the dog and the dog starts growlig and barking.  I wonder if we as humans sometimes discount our basic instincts and push away that uncomfortable feeling and dismiss that uncomfortable feeling with excuses (past abuse issues, differences in cultures, over-reaction etc.) instead of just listening to that small inner voice that says "Hey something about this person is not right". Do you know what I mean? What does everyone think?  I can only speak for myself. I have a wide personal space and it makes me crazy when people I barely know step into it. My husband, on the other hand, is a musician and has a lot of artsy, fartsy friends who like to touch, kiss and hug. It drives me crazy sometimes. None of them are bad people it is just the way theatrical people are.
