Hi Mam2e,

Your English is just fine lady.  You make your points clearly. I understood everything.   :)

Thank you GiGi ,often the difficulty is in the subtleties /nuance .

Hi Mam2e,

You are correct.  Gideon and Eva never directly or openly discussed the murder of Nathan.  I am not sure that Eva would be able to handle all of the details and I also not sure that she would want to know about the details either.   I think that under different circumstances, Gideon might want to confess to someone, but that someone isn’t going to be Eva.  What do you think?  What does everyone think?

Perhaps he could discuss /unburden to Angus if he knows as much as we think he does .One other thing that's just occurred to is if he doesn't discuss it with Eva how would we know how he went about it because the story is told from her POV and I must say I'm really really curious about how it went down all the way back from when he was kicking Nathan's backside in his office.I'd like to know how Nathan introduced and all the interactions right up until he killed him.

I also would like to know how Gideon could bring himself to look at those videos... Just knowing the depth of his love for Eva I just can't see Gideon putting himself through that because I think it would have broken him... :(

I'm thinking October/November for Book 4. Sylvia's new series is coming out in August with a follow-up in December so October/November makes sense to me.

LOL.

Hi Gigi

The thing is. We don't know much about Monica's past.

Could she have been desperate for money being a single person. Her family had cut her off. What sort of education had she had? What career opportunities did she have, with a child in tow? What contact if any did she have with Victor? How did she support herself and Eva? Desperate people do desperate things.

I couldn't see her working at a deli or corner shop!! She was a classy lady, that's why I thought she might have become a high class escort. Where she finally met Barker at a function. He was lonely, as was she. They both had a child. It doesn't sound like they loved each other, just a marriage of convenience. He was away a lot. She spent his money. The rest is history!

Yes I think all of Monica's marriages have been LOVELESS marriages when you think about it it's really quite sad...

It would be brutal and I think a giant trigger for him .

Hi Mam2e,

I think Gideon has a lot of healing to do.  I just hope that Eva will be able to help him with his past abuse issues.  I wonder what faith Gideon is.  If he is Catholic, he can safely confess to a priest without fear of reprisal.  The sacrament of Confession is considered sacrosanct (priests cannot be forced to betray the confidence of the parishioner, they cannot break the seal of confession) and could offer Gideon some measure of comfort in such a horrendous situation.   What do you think?  What does everyone think?

Regardless of whatever faith he is, Gideon will NEVER confess what he did to anyone...if he was smart and he is.

Hi Sharonm745,

You make a good point.  I wonder if Eva might be having a bit of a hard time with the entire concept of marriage.  Could it be that she may be afraid to actually voice that out loud because she has always been afraid of losing Gideon?  Isn’t that what made Eva hesitant about marrying Gideon in the first place?  What do you think?  What does everyone think?

Yes I do think Eva truly believes she is too young to be married but she knows herself and that she is totally in love with Gideon so I think she is going to try and make everyone happy like she always does but at the same time I think she will be surprised that she will actually thrive in the marriage and come to realize that the security and the vows and of course Gideon committed to her in EVERY way is exactly what she needed in her life. I think that is what the next two books will be about the two of them finding their way as a couple GROWING TOGETHER and finally gaining that confidence of a stable, loving relationship.

Hi Gabri,

I agree with you.  Cary is far from perfect, but we wouldn’t love him any less. :)   I just wish that he would think sometimes before acting.  :)

Especially when it concerns someone else! I feel very bad for him though in this book because Eva is now married to Gideon and even though they'll always have each other it's not quite the same and he has all the Tatiana c .r .a.p to deal with .

Hi Claudine,

More photos? Holy cow!! I am not sure we will survive another round of it! Although I have to say I really enjoyed the snippets!! I would have loved just as many snippets as snapshots, if not more! I don’t care if they are deleted scenes or what, I’ll take them! :)

Hi GiGi!

Absolutely.

She said she felt intimidated by the thought of marriage. But at the same time, the worry was starting to disappear. It's quite natural, bringing with it new responsibilities.

Hi Fluffy

He must be shy then, how sweet.

Perhaps Sylvia can talk him round :)

Monica comes across as the sort of woman willing to take a temporary position (rich man's mistress) while hunting for a permanent position (rich man's wife).

Mr. Barker (Nathan's father and her first husband) was a widower, and so as ruthless and/or desperate as Monica can be, her first marriage didn't involve stealing another woman's man (like the married Corrine was willing to attempt to do.)

Among the needs Barker has was to find a stepmother for Nathan, therefore, it was naturally easy for him to be willing to become a step-parent in return to Eva.

Hi Julie,

So you suspect that Elizabeth Vidal was an escort prior to landing a husband?  The concept is intersting but I am not sure I would buy that.  I know that as pragmatic as Monica may appear to be, somehow I don't see her a a high class hooker.  I can't see her being paid for sex or even being kept as a mistress on the side (basically a long term hooker rental).  Who know's though.

I could see Monica dating or being the girlfriend of a Mob Boss and then getting out of the situation.  I could also see her dating some really shady characters but I just don't see that scenario.  It is just my gut feeling, but again, who know's it coudl just be indigestion.  :)

I don't see Monica as an escort.  She was presented in society so she has connections even if her parents disowned her.  It is possible that is why she left NYC so she could rub elbows with the wealthy without running into her parents.  It is possible that she was a mistress for a time, she is adamant with Eva not to move in with Gideon before marriage.  I suspect Monica was burned with promises that only a young, desperate woman would believe.  If she was a mistress she most likely got out of the relationship with her first millions and then moved on to Barker.  A man who could give her wealth and access to "the right" people.

I do think she is happy with Stanton even if she isn't "in love" with him.  I remember Eva talking to Cary and saying "I don't know why it never occurred to me to just find someone I can be happy with."  Stanton gives Monica everything that she needs except for her being "in love"  with him.

As many mistakes that Monica makes, I think she is right that she did everything for the love of Eva.  She most likely used her only asset (beauty) to advance her position and open doors for Eva.  I feel sorry for Monica because she is hiding a lot of hurt too and she has no one she can talk to.

Devious Deanna Johnson

Creepy Christopher Vidal Jr.

Lizard Lizzie/Elizabeth Vidal

Conniving Corrine Giroux

Tat (or if we've being truly snarky, T.w.a.t) Tatiana Cherlin

The list is growing. More bad guy/girls up for grabs.

I like it. I prefer T.w.a.t for the new snake in the story.
