Do you think Gidon is still going to let his new bride go away with Cary for the weekend and with Brett after her? I feel a throwdown coming.

Hi MicheleWV,

I don’t think that Gideon would spend an entire weekend without Eva.  I think that if anything, Eva and Cary may take and earlier flight and that Gideon may join them both at a later hour.  If anything I think that Gideon may want to run interference between Eva and Cary and he may also want to be there to help Eva deal with Cary and his problems (he has some huge ones!!).  What do you think?  What does everyone think?

Hi Sharonm745,

I was thinking about what you and everyone said about Corinne trying to get Gideon to sleep with her.  No one knows what Jean Francois looked like in his earlier days (if I am not mistaken) so couldn’t it be a problem later on if little baby wound up with red hair and green eyes (for example)? There is no guarantee that the baby would have blue eyes and black hair.  It is just a thought.

I was really thrown for a loop as far as Elizabeth Vidal was concerned.  I was so surprised that after her last confrontation with Eva, Elizabeth never said a word to her son.  I think that is something huge that may play out in the next book!  I can't figure out for  the life of me what is rattling around in that woman's head.

I've been think about something to do with Elizabeth Vidal . Gideon knew that Eva had spoke to her. In RIY when he went to get Eva from Lucas office this is part of the conversation they had

“You’re a nut job. You know that?â€He stabbed the elevator button and glared at me. “I am? What about you? You’re all over the place. My mother. Corinne. G,o,d,d,a,m,n,e,d Lucas. What the f.u.c.k are you doing, Eva?â€

Makes me think he must have asked his mother what Eva spoke to him about.

Or did he know what Eva would have confronted his mother about?

I'd like to learn more about Elizabeth and Monica . Hopefully in the next two books we will learn more about the mothers!

Morning lady!

We definitely need to know what's going on with these two women. Monica has something to hide. I'm going with escorting, Lizzy I'm still going mummy issues. I didn't like the comment in the hospital "your not taking my son away from me". She drove him away.

I'm still working on her, and her reasons. I'll get back to you. :)

I think Eva tolerates him for her mothers sake. I wouldn't say she hates him, but he is a dominant man used to getting his own way. Eva, is like her father, she loves Gideon for the right reasons, not money, like her mother. Stanton indulges Monica, which makes her dependant on him. He loves the power over people, Eva stands up to him, which I think he admires, like her getting her own job, rather than accepting one from him.

She appreciates what he has done for her mother and her, regarding her abuse.

Hi Kirsten,

I read your posting and I was wondering; what makes you think that Gideon will allow Eva to travel to San Diego without him (even if Cary is in tow)?  I can understand Gideon’s potential concerns prior to Nathan’s death but what I wonder is Gideon is going to trust Eva and let her deal with Brett or could it be that Gideon allows Eva to go to SD under the guise of her going alone but he shadows her during the entire time?

I was wonder about the whole Russian Mob thing and I have to admit that whole scenario threw me for a loop.  I was wondering; do you have any ideas on that whole thing?  What do you think?  What does everyone think?

Hi GiGi,

I think that Gideon is going to want to go, but this trip was supposed to be for Eva and Cary to get their relationship straight. Gideon will insist on security I think, but I can't see him forcing Eva to take him. I think he will perhaps shadow her, but I can't see him insisting he has to go. Him insisting would mean that he doesn't trust Eva, and after everything they have been threw Eva is not going to take kindly to that.

The Russian mob thing threw me for a loop also. Some have suggested that Clancy and his FBI brother are involved with that angle. I'm just not sure. I'm still trying to figure out what my feelings are about the whole thing. I need to re-read a few of the scenes to see if I am missing some sort of clue.

I agree with you Kirsten about SD, I wondered if Stanton had something to do with the Mafia but Clancy was more involved with the placing of the bracelet and had gleamed the info about the mafia from her brother in a round about way :)

The biggest reason Eva and Cary are going to San Diego is for Cary to be able to talk with Dr. Travis about his (Cary) learning Tatiana is pregnant.

I'm hoping that Eva seeing Dr. Travis while there will be the thing she needs to get her head on straight about Brett, making it simple for Eva to do what needs doing -- letting Brett go completely. Hopefully, Dr. Travis can make her see what's really going on is that Eva is subconsciously punishing Gideon over Corrine. Eva needs to work out her very justifiable anger at Gideon the right way.

Brett is one of the reasons Eva ended up as Dr. Travis' patient 3+ years ago. Victor could see there was something wrong inside Eva -- she was an angry wild young woman sleeping around with men bad for her, including some local rock band singer (Brett) and some tattoo artist who was cheating on her (out on patrol, Victor caught the guy getting a blow job from another woman while driving.) Reflected suggests those two guys were the final straw for Victor.

I think the reason she said she doesn't like Stanton half the time is because he backs her mother when she was tracking her phone, letting her go wild with her over protectiveness, etc.  She thinks Stanton should support Dr. Petersen's efforts to let go.

Eva needs to let go of Brett. She cannot move forward with him in the picture. She needs to lay her ghosts to rest. Put her past behind her and concentrate on her future as the wife of Gideon cross, but at the same time, still being able to be Eva Tramell.

Hi Jmhope & Kirsten,

I guess that is the big question:  Are Dr. Lucas and his wife Anne still married?  Did their marriage survive the affair?  If it didn't then why on earth would they attend a social function together?  So many questions, now all we have to do is wait....

I believe they are still married.

Hi Rogue,

I agree with your assessment.  Too much has happened between Gideon and Corinne to maintain a friendship, even just a casual one.  In this situation, it is best to let sleeping dogs lie.

As far as the Corinne seeing Anne, I have to agree with you.  That entire scenario would just be far too convenient for me to swallow as well.  I don’t think that Anne was her doctor or was the one treating her.  You are also correct in that the prescription would have the name of the doctor on Corinne’s bottle.  I don’t doubt for one minute that Gideon would have looked at what Corinne was taking, given her increasingly erratic behaviour.  Gideon has been far too shrewd and involved to just suddenly drop the ball.

I have a feeling that we may all be really surprised about how this entire Corinne/medications/psychiatrist storyline plays out.  I have a feeling we may all be thrown for a loop.  What do you think?  What does everyone think?

I was also thinking maybe the doctor that Corinne was seeing was the 1st doctor who checked Gideon out.   What does everyone think about that?

Well, I've convinced myself that Clancy definitely had something to do with the Russian Mob guy. Towards the end of Chapt.17, after Eva had her 'meet & greet' with Giroux and she's getting into the car to go to lunch with her mom, she has a short conversation with Clancy. When he asks how she is she says, "Hanging in there." He says, "You'll be all right." She felt he sounded pretty confident about that. Those words made me feel like he was telling her that he took care of things and not to worry. We'll see............

LN - I was reading your post on the other thread and it reminded me of a conversation that I really wanted to hear Gideon & Eva have.  I was really hoping that they would discuss the call Eva made when Gideon was at the police station.  Eva was so hurt when she found out Gideon saw the pictures and Gideon was so hurt when he realized Eva thought seeing the videos and pictures was the reason he broke up with her.

I know he they mention the videos when he is talking about their dreams, and I'm not sure what they would say, but I wish a conversation would happen.

I agree with you.  As soon as I read about the Mafia twist Clancy came to mind and every time I re-read or listen I am more convinced.  I think Clancy is upset that he failed Cary and he is making up for, what he considers, an error on his part.

You know what I'm struggling with? Why all of a sudden Elizabeth thinks Eva is to blame and she said to her "I won't let you take him away from me?!"

It was clear from the get go that Gideon and his mums relationship was strained to say the least, to be honest with his whole family!! Why is she suddenly pushing the blame onto Eva, I don't think Gideon acted any different to his mum before and after he met Eva! Is it purely cos Eva called her out on the abuse?!

Gideon will let Eva go to SD as long as she agrees there will be security with her plus the fact that her dad is there.   I'm sure there will be an argument about it but she will only go with Carey.

Hi Peachies,

Your theory about why Christopher Jr. may be pushing the sex tape (or has knowledge of it, who knows) is plausible. I only struggle with how short sighted that plan is. I have wondered how smart or devious Christopher Jr. really is and what his reaction to the news, that Eva and Gideon are now married, will be. Oh to be a fly on that wall….

Hi GiGi,

I have a feeling the reaction to the wedding news is going to hit a few of the characters hard. Namely Elizabeth, Chris Jr, Corrine....

I think that Gideon will have a division that Eva will run along with her foundation.  I haven't decided if Mark will come to work for Gideon and Eva yet but it is a very good possibility.

I agree too but Eva will convince Mark to come work for her.   She knows Mark is excellent at his job.
